Octomeria, Orchid

  About Tim & Esther

Octomeria is a genus of orchids in the family Orchidaceae, comprising about 150 species. The name Octomeria is derived from Greek meaning 'eight parts', in referring to the eight pollinia. Octomeria species can be found throughout the American tropics, mostly in Brazil. Some species have flat leaves while some have terete leaves. Flowers are borne on short spike at the base of the leaf.
