Climbing Orchids

  About Tim & Esther

Climbing orchids are always monopodial, and are easily grown in pots or beds with wooden post to which the aerial roots attached themselves. They are usually originated from the ground and climb up wooden supports, trees or bushes.

Climbing orchids need a better draining compost than terrestrial, and have aerial roots that will cling to any suitable support. They usually need more space to grow and some species can reach several meters tall, and are therefore difficult to move the plants.
